Our office, located in the seaside village of Stonington, CT, specializes in residential design that is sensitive to the coastline. The firm’s residential architecture is responsive to its site and surroundings. A well sited residence, especially on the coast, maximizes views from all rooms and is shaped by sun and wind. It also gracefully transitions from indoor to outdoor spaces. We refer to this approach as “working from the outside…in”.
Increasingly, coastal homes are subject to a complexity of regulations. We specialize in architectural feasibility analysis for coastal properties. Our extensive experience in resolving zoning and flood hazard issues enables us to identify opportunities and minimize risks for both property buyers and homeowners. And, being on the coast ourselves, we design buildings and specify sustainable materials that withstand the elements.
